Making an exhibition stand with curve appeal

Making an exhibition stand with curve appeal

by Richard Broughton – 16th April 2010

Merchant Technology Marketing has delivered the new Schlumberger/Sensa corporate stand for the 2008 – 2009 season of trade events. The innovative curved design is one of many custom and off-the-shelf solutions available from Merchant Technology Marketing for exhibition spaces of any size.

As a leader in oilfield technology, S/S wanted a corporate stand but with visual impact to represent its innovative monitoring technology and achieve differentiation at crowded shows.

Working with a footprint of 6m x 6m, stands like this can often lack imagination, blending in amongst commonplace geometric layouts and shell schemes. To maximise event profile, Merchant Technology Marketing designed a compact but visually striking curved stand, manufactured from a specially produced aluminium extrusion.

Simple construction was key, enabling S/S staff to easily erect the stand themselves at multiple venues. To support S/S businesses across the world, the stand can be packaged for cost-effective shipping to the next venue and the design allows for frequent dismantling and reassembly, without degrading its appearance.

The stand includes fixings for light boxes and a large plasma screen and is clad with graphics that can be easily updated for different events. It also incorporates an area with seating for meetings, providing some privacy in a busy show environment.
