Plenty of SMEs (small-to-medium sized enterprises) we speak to are still saying the same thing: “We don’t have time for social media, it won’t benefit us or our bottom line”.
We respond by saying ‘not only can an active base of followers mature into valued customers, but they can also help spread the word about you, leading to even more customers’. However, it’s all very well a marketing agency saying it to you but it has much more weight when supported by the right statistics.
New data from Twitter provides exactly that; evidence that even the smallest businesses can benefit from social media. The leading social network surveyed adults, in the US and UK, who identify themselves as Twitter followers of SMEs and the results speak volumes.
