The MTM Agency team is pleased to announce it’s been shortlisted for two national CIPR Excellence awards, in the Young Communicator of the Year and Sport or Entertainment Campaign categories.
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards recognises outstanding achievements in PR and communications practice. With a shortlist of 125 organisations and PR professionals showcasing the impact of their work across 30 categories, it represents the UK’s premier public relations awards ceremony.
MTM PR Manager, Ollie Manser, has been selected as one of four finalists in the national Young Communicator of the Year category, and our client partner England Golf was shortlisted in the Sport or Entertainment Campaign category for our work on empowering women to take up the sport as part of a ‘Get into Golf’ initiative.
Since joining MTM in June 2023, Ollie has established himself as an exceptional PR talent, combining strategic thinking with flawless execution across diverse sectors. Ollie’s innate understanding of audiences and keen client management has delivered exceptional results, while advancing industry standards as a part of award-winning campaigns, agency awards, extensive media coverage and industry recognition.
The MTM’s team’s work on England Golf’s ‘Get into Golf’ campaign had the goal of reshaping the perception of golf as an exclusive, male-dominated sport. The campaign aimed to dismantle barriers preventing women from entering the sport and centred on driving traffic to the campaign platforms and channels, encouraging women to book introductory sessions and securing widespread media coverage across radio, online and print.
The campaign achieved a media reach of 203.5 million across broadcast, online, and print platforms. Our radio coverage across one day alone extended to 2.85 million listeners. The campaign also secured 11 features in national news outlets, including prominent publications such as the Daily Express, The Sun, and The Mirror. The TikTok audience demographic split also tipped the scales to increase the female audience by 54 per cent.
Beyond the numbers, the campaign's qualitative impact was profound. We successfully created a supportive narrative around female sports participation, and inspired women to explore golf as a meaningful recreational activity. To read more about our PR work on this campaign click here.
Wes Maynard, manager director at The MTM Agency commented: “It’s great to have been shortlisted at a national level in the CIPR Excellence Awards, and not only for our client partner work with England Golf but also at a team and individual level with Ollie’s inclusion. It’s a testament to the expertise, service and commitment to delivering the very best results for our client partners.”
We’ve got everything crossed for the awards ceremony taking place on Wednesday 2 July at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
